My name is Janet Stauffer. I have lived all my life in Malvern. My husband, Herb has also. He retired last year from head custodian at Charlestown Elementary. We have two daughters, Lara & Heather. Lara is a kindergarten teacher at Collegium in Exton. Heather moved to Cape Coral, FL 4 years ago, where she teaches pre-K at a Methodist Church. We are on our third sheltie (Shetland sheepdog). Her name is Sasha and she is 8 ½ years old.
I am now retired. After graduating from Villanova University, I started my career as an auditor with Haskins & Sells. I ended my career as a controller for Impact Systems which provided services for the intellectually disabled. One of my greatest joys in life was seeing my aunt moving from Pennhurst to a group home in Downingtown. I enjoyed accounting but am now loving working on our 3 ½ acre property, in Charlestown township, from gardening to splitting wood. I also enjoy cooking and reading.
I was baptized, attended Sunday school & was married in this church. I became a member of the church 45 years ago. I have been installed as both a deacon in 1983, 2011 & 2014 and an elder in 1998. Our daughters were baptized and became members here. Heather was married here. My parents were married here & later became members. Also, my mother’s two sisters were members, former Sunday School teachers & married here. Thus, I have a great history and love for this church. It is good to be back after COVID, caring for my Mom & aunt who were really sick in 2022 then rebounded in 2023 & the passing of Herb’s mother just this fall. Though I have returned after a 4-year hiatus, I never left the church spiritually. I said “Here I am Lord” then found myself volunteering to be deacon. I have received quite the welcome back from everyone.
