What We Believe

Sharing the Joy of God's Table

Covenant Presbyterian Church is a spiritual home where we connect our congregation and our community to God’s table through worship, fellowship, learning, outreach, and mission.

Warm and Welcoming Worship

At Covenant, our worship is warm and welcoming because we believe everyone is welcome at God's table. Our worship, whether on Sunday mornings, weekday Taizé services, or special occasions, is focused on God and Scripture and filled with music, teaching, and praise. No matter who you are, you are welcome in our worship. As a part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), we seek to include all people in our work and worship, because the unity of believers in Jesus is reflected in the diversity of the Church's membership. Everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, sex, gender
identity, sexual orientation, disability, geography, or theological conviction is guaranteed full participation and representation in our worship, governance, and emerging life!

A Place at the TablePeople in a Sunday School Class

We cherish gathering around the table for fellowship, inviting friends to join us. We gather to eat, quilt, play softball, discuss books, toast marshmallows, and more. We care for each other with Deacon-led programs, via Stephen Ministry, and as individuals.

Bible-Centered Learning

Life-long learning and faith journeys are nurtured for all ages and all walks of life at Covenant. We offer Children’s Church, Youth Group, Adult Sunday School, and weekday study groups to help us grow in the Word. Whether you're filled with doubts, overflowing with faith, a scriptural scholar, or new to Christianity, we hope you'll share your voice, your questions, and your own experiences as we learn and grow together. As a church in the "Reformed" tradition, we believe we are "reformed and always reforming, according to the Word of God."

Inclusive and Hospitable OutreachPeople preparing food at Rise Against Hunger

Covenant has a long, vibrant history of sharing God’s joy with the community. On our property we have The People’s Pantry, through which we donate food, school supplies, and to the Christmas Family Program which provides gifts to hundreds of people every Christmas. We sponsor Scout troops, volunteer with Broad Street Ministry in Philadelphia, provide meals to people in need, and support other regional programs.

Extravagant Generosity

Covenant's commitment to mission extends well beyond our local area. Since 2005, we’ve sent teams to help build houses in Reynosa, Mexico, building relationships as well as homes. We work with Villages in Partnership to support and collaborate with people Malawi, a country in southeastern Africa. We package meals for Rise Against Hunger. Covenant members founded Sneakers for Soldiers, a group to support US soldiers. Our mission programs endeavor to reflect the passions of our members.
