Covenant Family,
We are rejoicing that, because of your amazing patience and perseverance, we are now able to begin removing many of the restrictions that were necessary to keep one another safe and healthy. In accordance with the guidelines released by the CDC and the Governor's office our guidelines for Covenant activities are changing.
What we know:
What this means:
The Healthy Pathways Task Force and pastoral staff will continue to monitor the most recent guidelines and adjust these rules as the situation develops. Worship will continue to be available online to those who are uncomfortable attending in person!
Remaining Masked
In light of these facts, even though fully vaccinated people are no longer required to mask, we are asking the Covenant Community to show Christ's love and welcome to the most vulnerable among us until everyone can be fully vaccinated, including the children. We will not be asking anyone to reveal their vaccine status in order to participate in the life of the church. We desire to welcome all, regardless of their vaccine status, and to encourage our children and immunocompromised worshippers to remain safe. This means:
Beginning Sunday, June 6th, all will be welcome to RSVP for in-person participation in Sunday morning worship services at both 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Weather permitting, the 8:30 a.m. service will be held outdoors weekly and masks will be optional at 8:30 a.m. The 11:00 a.m. service will be held indoors and masks will be mandatory for all participants at the 11:00 a.m. service.
Some Social Distancing
Per CDC guidelines we are relaxing some of our social distancing requirements. We will maintain some social distancing during indoor worship services by only occupying every other pew at the current time.
8:30AM Service Returning: Outdoors!
Beginning Sunday, June 6th, all will be welcome to RSVP for Sunday morning worship services at both 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Weather permitting, the 8:30 a.m. service will be held outdoors and masks will be optional. The 11:00 a.m. service will be held indoors and masks will be mandatory for all participants at the 11:00 a.m. service.
Loosened Small Group Restrictions
If every person at a small group meeting at a Covenant Church building is fully vaccinated, that group may unmask, provided that all attending are comfortable with this arrangement. Those uncomfortable with such an arrangement should contact the group leader, Pastor Alex ( ) or Pastor Emily ( ). Hybrid meetings will continue to be available to include those who are uncomfortable attending in person.
We hope that the same spirit of community that has sustained us during this pandemic will enable us to remain strong in our commitment to keeping everyone attending our church healthy. While we rejoice that restrictions are loosening for fully vaccinated people, we also take seriously the words of the Apostle Paul: "be careful that this liberty of yours does not in any way become a stumbling block to those others" (1 Corinthians 8:9).
Blessings,
